How to play

Versicode turns a real Bible verse into a number cipher — every distinct letter gets one number, consistent everywhere it appears. Tap a numbered letter, then type or tap a letter to try it; a couple of letters start revealed for free, and you get two hints per round. Tap Check anytime to see which of your letters are right so far — nothing is marked wrong automatically while you type. Solve the whole cipher to reveal the verse and its reference.

  1. 1Study the cipher. A real Bible verse appears as numbers, with spaces and punctuation intact.
  2. 2Assign letters. Tap a number and type a letter — it fills in everywhere that number appears.
  3. 3Check and reveal. Tap Check to see what's right so far, and crack the whole cipher to reveal the verse.

Who it’s for

A good fit for puzzle and cryptogram fans, a quieter alternative to a timed game, or anyone who wants to sit with one verse a little longer.

Frequently asked questions

How many hints do I get?

Two hints per round, plus a couple of letters that start revealed for free — tap the hint button any time you're stuck.

Will I get told right away when a letter is wrong?

No — nothing is marked wrong automatically while you type. Tap Check whenever you want to see which of your letters are right so far.

Do I need to type accents in Spanish?

No — type accented vowels without the accent mark (like "e" for "é"); Ñ is its own letter with its own number.
